About the Event
The Advanced Fetal Monitoring course expands on the knowledge and physiological principles presented in the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course. This course uses a case scenario approach to focus on the analysis of maternal-fetal physiology related to complex clinical information and fetal heart rate tracings. The course emphasizes the physiology of fetal-maternal oxygenation, the interpretation of tracings, the selection of clinical interventions, and perinatal risk-management principles. There is a recommended renewal date every two years for the Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course.
Learning Outcomes:
• Describe the physiologic principals of the pregnant patient’s and fetus’s oxygen transfer as they apply to principles of fetal heart monitoring
• Appraise the fetal response to the pregnant patient’s pathological and physiological adaptations during the labor process
Nursing Contact Hours/CME Credit:
8 nursing contact hours/8 CME credit available through January 31, 2028 (0.75 hours may be used towards pharmacology hours).
